Cold mornings
Last week we had some cold days in the Netherlands. An ideal opportunity to shoot some cold sunrises and playing and testing the Benro universal filters. This is one of the very last front light shots I took Friday. Stacking up 2 filters and still I needed some photoshop to repair the bleached out sun.....

The path to X-Mas
Wishing you all some nice X-Mas days. Enjoy and relax.

When winter meets autumn

Hot 'n Cold Posbank winterish walk
Last sunday I hiked around over the Posbank with a photo friend of mine. I actually walked several times in this great scenery covered in white. This sunday I decided to leave my big and bulky 5DMIII at home, and took on the G7X and a light weight tripod. Thanks to the subtile HDR function of Lightroom CC you can expose these kind of images. Little is not always less.

Dutch winter moods!
Last week Wednesday. Low fog and freezing conditions transformed in the Netherlands the country in an winter mood we see only from time to time. Just before another nice day in the office started and I by co-incedence had my gear with me, I couldn't resist shooting these winter moods.....

Layered
Posbank Veluwezoom a week ago on cold and frosty morning where in this shot the first warm sun light was melting the ice on the heather, giving it a nice warm orange tone.

Dutch winter scenery
Last sunday, a cold start of the day. Tempretures below 0 Celcius after a cold night. Nature was covered with frost, while the sun was slowly setting and bringing colour to the world. Panorama out of 7 vertical images.

Panorama Stuwensemble Driel
Last year I started exploring my panorama skills. This is one of the shots I made 1 year and 1 day ago near this remarkable Dutch waterhouseholdmanagement system, the stuw- en sluisensemble of Driel. 13 vertical images stitched together via Lightroom CC. As you can see last year it was high water in the river Rhine, currently (2017) it is low level. I like the icy water on the right in the floodplains and the bended curve.

Dutch Ginkel prairie in winter mood
Two weeks ago a few days of winter cold was around in the Netherlands. The sun was setting rapidly, the colours where changing and making it for wide angle shots with filters hardly impossible shooting nice exposures. Therefore I decided to close my view by using my 70-200 mm. telelens. I put my 84,5 mm. filter reversed grad ND4/0,6 on it highlighting the nice orange/peach tones above the wood in the far end. As a wide angle shooter I sometimes forget shooting landscapes with a telelens is possible to. So if you have a tele lens and as I am addicted to your wide angle lens, just switch and you'll be surprised! Enjoy!

Golden hour @Ginkelseheide -4° C
Rainbow in the Sky
Last week a short period of winter showed her best side in the early morning. Just a few minutes after the blue hour window closed a total eclips of colours melted and warmed up the sky. I checked my filters if they wheren't fogged and kept shooting, enjoying the rapid changing colours and light.
For this shot I used the unique 84.5 mm. ultimate line reversed grad ND8 0,9 with my Lee wide angle filter ring and holder. Enjoy!

Hot 'n Cold Ginkelseheide -9° C this morning
Short in time, meeting started @ 0830 am. I took 10 minutes to shoot some shots tryng to express the cold and warm tones in this landscape of the Ginkelseheide. The sunset was more than 20 minutes away, but as I had experienced before, the bluehour with orange, purple and blue tones made it magic for me. No filters, some Lightroom adjustments! Enjoy.

Listen too this track..... www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oBRgXtyKeE
Perfect cloud skies this afternoon, decided for a hike, ending up @ Rijkerswoerdse Plassen. This is at the start of the Blue Hour, when some bad weather was building up in front of me. Used the ND 84.5mm Strong ND Grad Classic filter and some post processing in Lightroom 4

Live While Where Young
gisteren, eind van de middag, dikke windkracht 4/5, -3° C en bitterkoude gevoelstemperatuur, statief stond te dansen in de wind....maar deze kleuren....daar word je toch gewoon warm van? 84.5 mm. medium graduated grijsverloopfilter toegepast....

Chasing Cars
playing with light, a tele zoom lens and a soft graduated orange filter....

Winter Mood
die ene ochtend....

May the Light be With You! My best wishes for 2013.........
a new year ahead......Happy 2013 everybody..
what are your goals for 2013 photography wise...?? Mine is to start my own photo blog nldazuufotografeert.com and improve my skills and creative art by improving the workflow of not only Lightroom but also being able to use Photoshop..... I am also considering a new 50 days 50 mm. project, since I am now able to work with a full frame camera, changing the effect of 50 mm.
Equipment wise only a walk around lens is on the list (24-70 f/4 or f/2.8, next to a Polarizer filter for some lenses and if budget allows maybe a simple walk around camera like the Canon G1X of FujiX100 isfun to have with me, allowing maybe street candids or opportunity shooting when the light is available when travelling.....
But most of all I wounder if I will be able to improve my image quality, composition and technique......and surprise you with some nice images again.... your comments, critiques, feedback is needed there, so let's take it on, Are You Ready!!??
Cheers,
//Dave

Posbank february 2012

-16 @17 mm. Winter Wonderland Posbank 4.2.2012
